First "Sleep Over"

Sunday night Saku asked if he could have a sleep over with Eerika. Other than out of absolute necessity, my kids have not shared a room for sleeping.

Saku grabbed his sleeping bag and pillows and we made a mattress out of his comforter. We weren't sure if he would actually end up sleeping in Eerika's room so we didnt want to transfer the mattress there. 

We sang few songs to them. Isi told them a story and we said a prayer with each child. Then we left the room. We could hear them talking to each other and then we could hear Eerika yelling for me. She has started an unfortunate habit of calling for me at bedtime. And she isn't a quiet child. Neither of our kids are. 

After about 10 minutes, I checked on them and Saku had fallen asleep amidst Eerika's hollering. I sang one more song to Eerika and left. Then we heard some movement and few minutes later Eerika walked into our bedroom. She had the most mischievous look on her face and we could tell that she was so proud of herself. While we thought it was a funny situation of Saku sleeping on the floor and Eerika doing acrobatics to get out of her crib, I took her back to bed and turned off the bathroom light so it was dark. She does not climb out of bed when it is completely dark. The darkness did the trick and she fell asleep.  

First "sleep over" was a success.

So now Eerika can climb out of her crib and pack-n-play; fortunately, she does not attempt to get out when it is dark.
